Hi, I’m Derek Pfister. I am a Senior Enterprise Cloud Architect specializing in large-scale AWS infrastructure and system modernization. My career started in the trenches with real-time computing in C/C++, evolved through web development in Perl and the Microsoft stack, and is now entirely focused on designing highly resilient, self-hosted AWS architectures and serverless integrations.

While my day job involves using Terraform and Aurora Serverless to scale multi-billion-dollar financial platforms, I am fundamentally a technologist who loves to build. This site serves as my engineering sandbox and working notebook—a place where I document my side projects, API integrations, and explorations into modern tools like AI-driven development.
